HOW DOES THE COURSE COMMENCE?

Prior to the start of the IDC, candidates will participate in the EFR Instructor course if they are not already certified.

Starting off with the EFR Instructor course allows everyone the opportunity to have fun and get to know each other in an informal atmosphere and fosters teamwork before the IDC commences!

The IDC is then followed by a two day Instructor Examination (IE), conducted by PADI Head office. During the IE you will be evaluated on;
This is a continuation of the IDC program and believe it or not, is usually a lot of fun!

EFR Instructor Courses

All PADI Instructor candidates must be current Emergency First Response Instructors (or hold a qualifying rating) before their IDC/IE paperwork can be processed. The EFRI course is held at the beginning of each IDC allowing candidates to effectively master teaching prior to undertaking the course. This course takes is a day and a half.

Master Scuba Diver Trainer Course

Successful completion of the Open Water Scuba Instructor course is only the beginning of your new adventure! The PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) Instructor rating allows you to teach a wide array of exciting courses in Specialty interest areas. Not only does it give you the opportunity to teach your favourite type of diving and get a break from teaching the same thing over and over, it is also required by many professional dive operators. The course teaches you techniques specific to a given Specialty as well as how to sequence and conduct the dives.

By completing a Specialty Instructor Training Course, candidates need only document 10 logged open water dives (20 for Semiclosed Rebreather) in the specialty area, rather than the 20 dives required when applying directly to PADI. These dives may be completed as part of the Specialty Instructor Training course. The formal education provided by Specialty Instructor Training courses also eliminates the need for instructors to have certified 25 divers.

You can choose from a wide variety of Specialty Instructor Courses such as Enriched Air, Deep Diver, Underwater Navigator, PADI O2 Provider, Night Diver, Search and Recovery, Wreck Diver, Naturalist, Gas Blender and many more.
